New Shooter / Gun Safety Seminar

Description: This seminar exposes new gun owners to the fundamentals of firearm safety. This seminar is a great introduction to the important safety aspects of owning a firearm. This seminar does not involve any shooting but does cover basic firearms and ammunition safety, function, and operation; other topics include: how to safely handle and store a firearm, what to look for when selecting a firearm, how local ranges operate and what to expect when you show up for the first time. This seminar takes about an hour (depending on questions) and is a great introduction for first time shooters or those just getting back into shooting.

First Steps - Intro to Pistol

Format & Duration: Classroom/Range, 3 hours.

Cost: $140 (plus you pay your own range fees)

Best Suited For: New Shooters

Description: This course is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to semi-auto pistols. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate signed by an NRA Instructor.

Basics of Pistol Shooting

Format & Duration: Blended Learning, 4.5 hours Online & 1-2 hours In-person.

Cost: $135 (plus you pay your own range fees)

Best Suited For: New Shooters

Description: Introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Students learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. Upon successful completion of the in-person, live-fire session, the student will receive a certificate signed by an NRA Instructor.

Basic Concealed Carry Course (CCW)

Format & Duration: Classroom, Test, Live-Fire, 3 hours.

Cost: $140 (plus you pay your own range fees)

Best Suited For: Some experience, own your own firearm.

Description: This course is designed to meet Virginia's requirements for a CCW permit. Topics include Firearm Safety, Defensive Shooting, and Live Fire.

Private Lessons - Pistol or Rifle

Format & Duration: Live-Fire on an indoor range (NRA), 1 hour.

Cost: Starting at $50

Best Suited For: Beginners through experienced shooters.

Private Lessons - Shotgun

Format & Duration: Live-Fire on an outdoor range, clay targets, 1 hour.

Cost: $75-$100 + Range Fees. Depends on Location - Virginia & Maryland Range options available.

Best Suited For: Beginners through experienced shooters.

Description: Private lessons are tailored to your skill level. We work with beginners through experienced shooters (minimum age is 12). Lessons are tailored to your skill level and desired shooting goals (introduction to clay shooting, Sporting Clays, Trap, Skeet, Hunting, etc.).

Learn To Shoot Class (Shotgun)

Format & Duration: Conducted on the range. 1 hour.

Cost: $35

Best Suited For: Those who have never shot shotguns before as well as those who are looking to learn a new shotgun sports game.

Description: This class covers range etiquette/rules, safe handling of a shogun, loading/unloading, stance, and shooting clay targets.

Learn The Game - Wobble

Format & Duration: Students will go through a Safety and Intro to Shooting class - and then go to the Wobble Field and Learn the Game with the same instructor. 1-2 hours.

Cost: $55

Best Suited For: Those who have never shot shotguns before as well as those who are looking to learn a new shotgun sports game.

Description: The Learn to Game Class covers range etiquette/rules, safe handling of a shogun, loading/unloading, stance, and shooting clay targets. Students then shoot an actual game of Wobble with the instructor.

In-The-Field Advanced Instruction (Bird Hunting with an Instructor)

Format & Duration: In the field, on an actual upland bird hunt. All day.

Cost: $250-$375

Best Suited For: New or Beginner Hunters (must first attend a Shotgun Private Lesson).

Description: Continue mastering the Shotgun with In-The-Field Advanced Instruction. Join a small group and spend a day (in either Virginia or West Virginia) hunting Pheasant, Chukars, and Quail while being coached by an experienced instructor and guided by a seasoned guide dog and handler.
